Photo #2
Approximately what shutter speed did you use to freeze action?
The shutter speed was about 1/125 of a second
What ISO and WB settings did you use?
ISO- 200 WB-Auto
What action did you freeze? (Describe).
I was able to get a shot of the girls at the end of their flips on the football field.
What was your distance, and point of view for the photo?
I was off to the right side, and I got on my knees to get a lower point of view.
Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strengthen the photo.(rule of thirds, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, texture, strong colors, contrast...)
I tried to line up each girl with the vertical lines of the rule of thirds.

Approximately what shutter speed did you use to purposely blur action?
The shutter speed was about 1/15 of a second.
What ISO and WB settings did you use?
ISO- 800 WB- fluorescent
What motion, or part of the image shows blur? (Describe).
Nate was riding a skateboard in the gallery.
What was your distance, and point of view for the photo?
I was a few feet away from the subject, and my point of view was straight on.
Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strengthen the photo.(rule of thirds, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, texture, strong colors, contrast...)
I tried to line up Nate with the vertical line of the rule of thirds, and there also is a range of black to white with some greys.

painting with light
INSIDE OF SCHOOL
OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL
The Describe one of your photos from painting with light.
In photo number #2, I had someone draw a heart with the light source.
What shutter speed did you have the camera on?
The shutter speed was at about 4 or 6 seconds.
What light source did you use to create the painting?
We used one of our phone flashlights as a light source
How did you achieve the image/effect?
They drew a heart in the air with their phone and I took the picture with a slow shutter speed, and I was able to achieve the heart.
What impact does the photo have? How would the viewer feel looking at your photo?
The viewer would feel happy and excited if they were to look at my photo.

What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a large depth of field?
The f-stop that I used to create the large depth of field in image three was f/36
What ISO and WB settings did you use?
The ISO setting was at 800 and the WB was on incandescent lighting
What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a shallow depth of field?
The f-stop that I used to create the shallow depth of field in image one was f/4
What ISO and WB settings did you use?
The ISO setting was at 800 and the WB setting was on incandescent lighting
Which photo is better? Why?
I believe that photo number one with the shallow depth of field was the best photo because I think out of all my photos that one has the best use of a shallow depth of field. The shallow depth of field creates a more dramatic photo and I like how a shallow depth of field looks.
Why would you want to use a shallow depth of field?
You would want to use a shallow depth of field to get a more dramatic effect in the photo.
When/in what situation would a large depth of field be better?
A large depth of field would be a better if someone was taking a picture of a landscape such as mountains and the sunset on the ocean. Everything in the picture will be in focus and it will have a better effect than if you used a shallow depth of field.
